Supercar Specification:
The Range Rover's exterior was updated for 2006 along with the BMW V8 replaced with a Ford unit. The new engine choices were Jaguar's AJ-V8, with 4.4 litre 300 hp (227 kW) or 4.2 litre 400 hp (298 kW) supercharged variants. This new Range Rover was officially presented at the 2005 North American International Auto Show and released in summer 2005.
From the diesel engine of the 2006 model (at this time still the BMW
6-cylinder unit) to the supercharged V8, the car could reach 60 mph (97
km/h) from 14.8 seconds or as little as 6.5 seconds and has a top speed
from 110 mph (180 km/h) to approximately 130 mph (210 km/h) (governed),
respectively.
In addition to the engine change, the 2006 Range Rover is equipped
with an updated "infotainment" system. This includes a touch screen with
on and off-road navigation, radio, CD, Satellite Radio (US), telephone,
rear view camera, a wireless video camera system and other additional features all accessed via the same user interface. The audio system is Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound. Also available is a DVD rear seat entertainment which is fully integrated.
This system is linked by an industry-standard fibre optic network known as Media Oriented Systems Transport or MOST and an electronic network system known as CAN. A similar system is also used on Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport.
Suppliers for the 2006 Range Rover's components include Continental
Automotive for the complete cockpit module which incorporates the DENSO Corporation touch screen navigation unit. Continental also supply the centre console unit. Other suppliers include Alpine car audio for integrated head unit rear seat entertainment. Connaught Electronics Limited (CEL) provides the rear view camera (RVC) and wireless camera (VentureCam) systems and PTI telephone capabilities are provided by Nokia.
Most importantly the audio system was co-developed with Harman Kardon.
The premium offering gives a 720 Watt, 14-speaker system and was the
first OEM vehicle to use the discrete Logic 7 surround algorithm.

Damage Deposit
Payment
taken on a Credit / Debit Card. We hold the right to increase the
deposit prior to hire of vehicle. The damage deposit is used as (a)
security bond, (b) payments towards any mechanical damage which is not
covered by our Insurers, eg, tyres, wheels, clutch, gearbox and which
was sustained during the hire period, excluding normal wear and tear,
due to misuse and abuse, (c) an insurance excess against any accidental
damage or loss caused to the vehicle by a third party or the hirer and
(d) additional charges incurred during hire for excess mileage and, or,
petrol reimbursement charges, parking tickets, speeding fines and
congestion charge.
Supercar Availability
All
cars are subject to availability and can be subject to change without
prior notice. Images shown are intended as a guide only. Actual car
colour or specifications may vary.
Prices
All prices exclude VAT and are subject to change without notice.
Dress Code
Please dress comfortably and wear thin and flat-soled shoes.
The Weather
Driving
may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions (e.g.
strong winds, snow or flooding) which, would make driving Supercars
potentially dangerous. Please call us if in any doubt.
Petrol
You
will be provided with an agreed level of petrol and the vehicle must be
returned with the same level. If, however, this is not the case any
reimbursement for petrol will be charged at the pump price, plus £25*
administration charge and taken from the excess deposit.
Overseas
Please
note most of our cars may be taken out of the UK. Ireland ( Eire ) is
not part of the UK . Prior notification is required so that overseas
insurance and Breakdown Cover can be arranged. There will be an
additional charge for this and the Excess Deposit will be increased.
Liability
Liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge. No consequential loss liability will be covered.
Use of Vehicle
The
hirer may use the vehicle for the purpose of their business and for
social domestic and pleasure purposes. The vehicle may not be used for
any purposes for which they are not expressly designed. Further, the
hirer will not use or permit the vehicle to be used for hire, driving
tuition, towing, on/off-road racing or pace-making, or for competing in
any rally, or any other form of motor sport, track days, or for any
illegal purpose whatsoever.
Vouchers
All
Supercar Experience packs contain a voucher, which is evidence of a
payment for a given experience. Except as specified herein the payment
is non-refundable. Each voucher will show your booking reference,
passcode and experience type. This information must be quoted when
dealing with Supercar Experiences Ltd and will be used to identify your
payment. Vouchers must be kept safely and securely. Supercar Experiences
Ltd will take no responsibility for any loss you may incur as a result
of impersonation or identity fraud.
All vouchers are valid for 9
months from the date of purchase. The expiry date will be detailed on
the voucher. Vouchers cannot be extended.
Voucher Refunds
We
are happy to make refunds on un-booked experience vouchers bought
direct from Supercar Experiences Ltd within 28 days of purchase, minus a
20% administration charge (being a minimum charge of £50). Vouchers
are non-transferable.
Booked Experience Cancellations
Changing
a booked date amounts to a cancellation, Supercar Experiences does not
accept re-bookings or cancellations of a booked experience. |
